In 2006 Western Rubber Products bought the assets of Target Recycling Inc. of Chemainus, BC and formed a new division Island Tire . This has given the company a physical presence on Vancouver Island.
Scrap tires from all over Vancouver Island are delivered to Island Tire’s 3,700 square foot facility in Chemainus. The tires are shredded there with some of the shred transported to our plant on the Mainland for further processing. The balance is sold to a customer on the Island to use as fuel.
